Charlestown Vet - Pet Behaviour

Pet Behaviour

Behaviour support is available to help pets and their families live more comfortably together. Our team offers guidance for dogs of all ages, focusing on positive, practical strategies to support confident and happy behaviour.

At Charlestown Vet Clinic, we understand that behaviour challenges can be stressful and sometimes overwhelming. Whether you’re welcoming a new puppy, navigating adolescence, or managing changes in an adult dog’s behaviour, our goal is to support both you and your pet with clear advice and compassionate care.

Puppy Training & Early Support

Early training plays a vital role in setting puppies up for a happy life. We offer puppy training and one-on-one support to help young dogs develop good habits, confidence, and positive social skills. These sessions cover essential topics such as toilet training, play biting, basic manners, and building strong foundations for future learning. Private sessions are also available for puppies who may not be able to attend group classes.

Good Dog Manners

Our Good Dog Manners training is suitable for adolescent and adult dogs, with or without previous training. These small, supportive classes focus on strengthening the bond between you and your dog while reinforcing everyday skills such as loose lead walking, coming when called, settling calmly, and polite interactions with people and other dogs.

Behavioural Consultations

For dogs experiencing more challenging behaviours, we offer behavioural consultations to help identify underlying causes and develop practical management plans. This may include support for barking, jumping, anxiety, pulling on lead, chewing, digging, or inappropriate toileting. Our approach is calm, understanding, and tailored to your dog’s individual needs.
