Puppy School

Got a brand-new puppy? Let’s give them the best start. πŸ’–πŸΎ
Our Puppy School at Charlestown Vet Clinic is all about fun, learning, and helping puppies grow into confident, happy companions. Using positive, reward-based training, we create a safe and supportive environment where both puppies and owners can learn together.

Puppy School is designed for young puppies during a critical stage of development, usually starting from around 8 to 14 weeks of age. This early learning period is incredibly important, as puppies are most open to new experiences and social learning. Our classes focus on building confidence, resilience, and healthy social skills that will support your puppy throughout their life.

Led by our friendly and experienced trainer, Puppy School helps puppies learn how to interact positively with other dogs, people, and new environments. Classes include supervised playtime, gentle socialisation, and practical guidance to help puppies feel comfortable and curious rather than overwhelmed. Keeping class sizes small allows us to give each puppy personalised attention in a calm and controlled setting.

Puppy School is just as much about supporting owners as it is about training puppies. We cover essential topics such as toilet training, play biting, basic manners, and settling at home, along with helpful advice on managing common puppy challenges before they become ongoing issues. We also aim to make visits to the veterinary clinic a positive experience, helping reduce fear and stress during future appointments.

Our goal is to give your puppy the confidence to explore the world safely and the skills to become a well-adjusted family member. Puppy School is a fun, educational way to build strong foundations and strengthen the bond between you and your new companion.
